Changing Our Political Situation - APAC District Watch

As documented in The Charge and Political Action the federal (and State) governments have created a fairly complicated series of political restrictions and prohibitions on 501(c)(3) organizations such as the SCV. Over the past few decades this aspect of The Charge has suffered greatly. However the same laws and regulations provide the guidelines for like minded to participate on issues and elections of concern.

The Charge and Political Action

By the 1890's the United Confederate Veterans were getting on in years and began to look at how to best preserve the legacy of the Cause for which they had fought. To accomplish this honorable goal they established an organization for their descendants - the Sons of Confederate Veterans - in 1896.

Georgia Runoff Election - Results

At this point the runoff appears to be a very successful effort. Not only did two of our candidates make it to the runoff out of a field of ten, but our preferred candidate has apparently won the runoff election. With all but one precinct reported Dr. Paul Broun has a 373 vote edge and it is doubtful that the remaining military absentee votes will change the outcome.

APAC at SCV Reunion

Americans for the Preservation of American Culture (APAC) will be presenting a forum on Friday, July 27 - 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Riverview Plaza, adjacent to the Battle House. Created to provide a political voice for the Defense of The Charge, this event offers you an opportunity to learn more about the APAC, what you can do to meet the challenges in areas prohibited to the SCV and most importantly -  get started!

Georgia Special Runoff Election July 17 Voter Guide

Georgia had a special election on June 19. Note: Georgia special elections are non partisan and candidates of all parties appeared on the same ballot. The APAC had an impact on the Congressional election, but our candidates lost in the other two.

Virginia State Senate Results - June 12 Primary

The Virginia Senate Primary was held on June 12. The APAC recommended four candidates who are favorable to our issues and three won their primary. One had a margin of victory of 75 votes and all three were very close races.

We are strictly non-partisan and dedicated to the Preservation of Our Heritage. As a FEC registered Political Action Committee there are no IRS 501-c-3 restrictions, join us in creating a political voice for Preserving Our Heritage.
