Georgia Special Runoff Election July 17
Results

At this point the runoff appears to be a very successful effort. Not only did two of our candidates make it to the runoff out of a field of ten, but our preferred candidate has apparently won the runoff election. With all but one precinct reported Dr. Paul Broun has a 373 vote edge and it is doubtful that the remaining military absentee votes will change the outcome.

However the final votes will not be reported until Friday evening, as military absentee ballots have until then to be received.

Dr. Paul Broun's questionnaire responses follow:

Question 1:  Do you support the purchase of historically important properties with taxpayer dollars to preserve them for future generations?

_X_ Yes
___ No
___ Other, __________________________________________________

Question 2:  On battlefields and other historical properties associated with the War Between the States do you support a true history, devoid of political correctness, giving fair and equal treatment to the memory and service of the men engaged in the historic struggles?

_X_ Yes
___ No
___ Other, __________________________________________________

Question 3:  Many of the cemeteries maintained by the Veterans Administration contain veterans who fought for the Confederate States of America. Should these veterans be honored by flying the flags they fought under at these cemeteries?

___ No
___ Other, __________________________________________________

Question 4:  Prior to 1993 the United Daughters of the Confederacy was given a “symbolic patent” on the Confederate States of America First National Flag. The renewal of this patent was challenged and defeated on the floor of the US Senate in a frenzy of political correctness. Should this legislation be renewed?

_X_ Yes
___ No
___ Other, __________________________________________________

It takes 218 votes to have a majority in the House of Representatives, and all 435 are up for election in 2008. Now is the time to start working on the 2008 Congressional elections to improve our chances of reversing the trend of political correctness eliminating Our Heritage. We hope that you will join the effort - nothing will change until we make it change.
